Please examine photos. They are THIS item and are part of the description. I do not use stock photos or photos of other people’s items, unless otherwise indicated. This is an advertising letter opener for a Washington DC patent attorney Clarence O’Brien. I found several book titles he wrote on patents with publication dates of 1924, 1932 and 1943. He had a pretty large ad in Popular Science magazine in December 1931. He references a booklet on this letter opener. Style suggests 1930s. I could only find reference to one invention with his name as attorney, a hay raker from the 1940s. His legacy seems to be these letter openers he gave out. There are many. Significant flaws not depicted in the photos are described here-with, minor flaws and normal wear are not. Unless the item is described as new, assume there will be minor flaws or wear commensurate with a used item of given age.
